VEHICLE RENTAL AGREEMENT
 

This Vehicle Rental Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between the Lessor (Individual Vehicle Owner) and the Lessee (Renter) for the rental of a privately owned vehicle facilitated through the iDrive.SG platform.

1. Parties

This Agreement is made between:

• The Lessor, a private individual who is the owner of the vehicle and has registered it on iDrive.SG for rental purposes; and
• The Lessee, an individual who rents the vehicle through iDrive.SG.

2. Vehicle Details

All vehicle details — including make, model, registration number, year of manufacture, and insurance type — are securely recorded and managed by the iDrive.SG platform at the time of booking.

3. Rental Period

The start date, end date, duration, and time of the rental are set at the time of booking and are reflected in the system-generated rental confirmation.

4. Rental Fees

The rental fees, including the daily rate, total amount payable, and any applicable deposit, are automatically calculated and confirmed via iDrive.SG at checkout.

5. Payment Terms

All payments are processed securely through the iDrive.SG platform. The vehicle shall only be released to the Lessee after full payment is confirmed. iDrive.SG will disburse payments to the Lessor according to its payout schedule.

6. Vehicle Usage Terms

• The vehicle must be used only within Singapore and strictly for lawful, personal use, unless otherwise specified and permitted by the Lessor.
• The Lessee is responsible for all traffic violations, fines, ERP charges, parking fees, and related penalties incurred during the rental.
• The vehicle must not be used for ride-hailing, courier services, or commercial purposes, unless explicitly approved in writing.
• The Lessee shall maintain the vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition and report any incident or damage immediately.
• Use of the vehicle for illegal, reckless, or unauthorized activities is strictly prohibited.

7. Fuel Policy

The vehicle must be returned with the same level of fuel as when handed over. A refueling charge may be applied by the Lessor if there is a discrepancy.

8. Insurance & Liability

• All vehicles listed are covered under either third-party or comprehensive insurance, as shown in the listing.
• The Lessee shall be responsible for any insurance excess payable in the event of an accident or claim.
• For minor damages not covered by insurance, the Lessee will be liable for the repair cost as assessed by the Lessor’s chosen workshop.
• The Lessor and iDrive.SG assume no liability for any injury, loss, or damage incurred during the rental.

9. Indemnity

The Lessee agrees to fully indemnify the Lessor and iDrive.SG against any claims, damages, or legal liabilities arising from the use of the vehicle during the rental period.

10. Vehicle Condition & Return

• The vehicle must be returned in a clean and good condition, both externally and internally.
• A cleaning fee may be charged (e.g., S$100) if the vehicle is returned excessively dirty.
• The Lessor will inspect the vehicle upon return and is entitled to claim costs for damages, refueling, or cleaning as necessary.

11. Early Termination

Either party may terminate this Agreement early, subject to iDrive.SG’s cancellation and refund policy. Early termination charges may apply as stated in the rental listing.

12. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any disputes arising shall be settled under the jurisdiction of Singapore courts.

13. Acceptance of Terms

By completing a booking via iDrive.SG, both the Lessor and Lessee accept and agree to be legally bound by the terms of this Agreement and the iDrive.SG platform’s Terms of Use.

The Policy does not cover any driver who is below 22 years old or with less than 2 years driving experience.
The vehicle shall be insured under a comprehensive insurance policy. In the event of any accident, damage, or loss during the rental period:

• Section 1 Excess (Own Damage): S$2,000
• Section 2 Excess (Third Party Liability): S$1,500
• Windscreen Excess: S$100

The driver is responsible for the applicable excess under the insurance policy.
