Vroom Leasing/VROOM (“The Entity”)
Hirer / Authorized Rider (‘Hirer’)
This Contract is Private and Confidential between the two parties. No part of this contract is to be taken in any form (copied/pictures) and all parties agree to the terms. Any part of this contract found to be reproduced will be charged to the guilty at $2000/-. Hirers can take a photo of the first page for reference.
Hirer must produce a valid Singapore NRIC and Class 2B, 2A or 2 Driving License or a valid International Driving License & valid Foreign Driving License and Passport or FIN card. The hirer guarantees that he / she is not under any suspension order on his/her Driving License.
The Hirer is NOT ALLOWED to sublet or lend the hired vehicle to a third party. If the vehicle is found to be ridden by anyone other than The Hirer named in the Rental Agreement, the vehicle will be seized by VROOM without any refund and the Hirer will be subjected to $2000 penalty fee for breach of contract and offenders will be handed over to the relevant authorities. Should the motorcycle get involved in an accident, insurance will not cover, and the hirer will be liable to pay for all costs incurred in the accident.
In any circumstance that the insurance does not cover the hirer (E.g. Hit-and-run, drink driving, illegal riding etc.), all costs and expenses incurred in the event of an accident will be 100% on the hirer.
Terms of Payment / $100 / $200 / $300 Security Deposit
Hire charges and Security Deposit for the hire period is payable by The Hirer at the time of taking over the vehicle. The Hirer is to pay a mandatory security deposit.
The deposit will be refunded to The Hirer via paynow within 1 working day, after the bike has been returned without issues. All rental charges paid in advance are non-refundable.
Although there are no minimum days of rental, a surcharge of $50 depending on model will be imposed on single day rental terms.
Rates / Petrol / Rental Extension / Towing
All rates quoted are in Singapore Currency, SGD & include insurance, maintenance, and unlimited mileage. Minimum rental charge is one-day’s rate. Each excess hour is charged at one-fifth of the daily rate. Petrol will be given at the point of rental, shall the rented vehicle be returned with a petrol level lesser than what is given at the point of rental, The Hirer will be liable to pay the refueling cost accordingly to the motorcycle class category, 2B - $50, 2A - $80 2 - $100. Extra petrol pumped into the motorcycle will not be refunded to Hirer. The vehicle must be fueled always using unleaded petrol. Damaged to using wrong fuel to the bike will also be borne on the hirer.
At any point if The Hirer wishes to extend the hire period, The Hirer is to inform VROOM immediately and to make advance payment for the extension period immediately, provided the hire extension is acceptable by VROOM. If the extension payment is not received at the end of the actual rental date, there will be a late payment fee of $50 each day excluding rental. Failure to make payment before the due date will be counted as a breach of contract and Hirer will be charge $2000 for penalty fee.
Towing will be charged starting from $60 per vehicle depending on the bike condition. VROOM staff must be informed of the towing beforehand.
Probation Plate
For Hirer's that is still under the probation period. A probation plate will NOT be provided by VROOM upon rental. The Hirer must always display the probation plate when riding if the Hirer is required by law to display it.
Bike Breakdown Procedure
In case of bike breakdown, please contact any vroom representative and request to tow the bike to Vroom Leasing. Towing fee will be covered by the hirer unless otherwise stated. If the hirer exceeds the recommended engine oil change mileage, the Hirer will have to bear the towing fee and the total repair cost of the bike.
Maintenance* / Replacement of Vehicle / Towing
The Hirer acknowledge that the bike they rented is in perfect roadworthy condition. The Hirer is required to do their own due diligence in reporting faults to VROOM Leasing during the period of hire should faults be noticed.
At any point that the bike is having any issues, the Hirer should contact the numbers stated above during office hours and will be advised on the following actions. Riders are to perform regular engine oil checks to ensure that there is sufficient engine oil in the bike. If the bike has been found to be lack of engine oil, the Hirer is to be responsible for repairs. If there is a need for a spare key to be used due to the Hirer’s negligence, the Hirer must pay a minimum of $200 and upwards (Depending on model) upfront to Vroom Leasing. Any bike components damaged during the period of hire will be borne 100% by the hirer.
VROOM provides free servicing for all bikes every 2000km depending on model. All bikes have records on when the last maintenance or engine oil change was done. For free change of engine oil, the Hirer is to bring the bike back to Vroom Leasing or any other authorized workshop by VROOM by the stipulated km stated on the odometer +/- 100km. As a delayed change of engine oil/overheating is extremely harmful to the bike, all repair costs of the bike will be borne on the Hirer for failing to comply (E.g., Engine overhaul etc.) and will have a penalty charge of $2000. Should the bike face any issue and VROOM representatives are not contacted immediately and the hirer insist to continue riding, all repair costs will be borne by the hirer and will have a penalty charge of $2000.
In any situation that the tyres are punctured or damage tyres while in the possession of the Hirer, the Hirer must pay for the replacement of a BRAND-NEW tyre of VROOM’s choice. The Hirer must bring the vehicle to VROOM’s preferred workshop or location for servicing if needed, failure to do so will have a penalty charge of $2000.
Should there be a need for a replacement vehicle due to an unforeseeable situation, the hirer also fully agrees and undertakes that the same above clause continues to apply to any replacement bikes provided by VROOM.
Liabilities / Fines / Damage to vehicle / Lost of vehicle / 3rd Party Claim Excess/Private Settlements
Hirer agrees to be solely responsible for and holds VROOM LEASING fully indemnified against all claim(s), demand(s), liabilities, loss(es), damage(s), proceeding(s) cost(s), expense(s), fine(s), penalties and liabilities imposed on VROOM or arising in respect of any noncompliance or contravention of any transport, traffic or other law(s) or regulation(s), together with the cost(s) and expense(s) including but not limited to the costs on a full indemnified basis relating herein thereto incurred by VROOM. The Hirer shall bear the cost of the repair, loss of use or rectification of any damages caused to the vehicle while in the possession of The Hirer.
VROOM reserves the right to demand full compensation of any promotional rates that were initially given without prior notice if the hirer has not followed the initial terms of the contract set prior, during and/or after signing.
Given that the hirer failed to go through with the promotional rate, VROOM has not been compensated fairly and any unused rental shall be used to compensate VROOM Leasing prior to the remaining to offset any repair amounts.
For every self-skid incident, the Hirer must pay a minimum upfront of $500 to VROOM Leasing. VROOM can demand a higher upfront depending on the severity of the damages and it will be at the discretion of vroom leasing. No refunds or returns will be made to the Hirer.
If the agreed rental vehicle is damaged to the extent that it is deemed by VROOM Leasing to be a total loss, The Hirer shall pay VROOM Leasing the cost of obtaining a replacement for the vehicle and shall also compensate VROOM the loss of use of the vehicle during the period of reinstatement or repairs. The Hirer shall also compensate VROOM for all towing, storage, and administrative charges. If the vehicle is stolen or otherwise lost whilst it is in the possession of the Hirer, the Hirer shall compensate VROOM the cost of obtaining a replacement vehicle and for loss of use for the period required to obtain the replacement.
If there is an accident that results or possibly results in any Third-Party claim and VROOM’s Third-Party insurance is involved, the Hirer is responsible to pay VROOM an excess amount of $5000. In the event of any accident, the rider is subjected to, at the discretion of vroom representatives, to pay upfront of a minimum of $7000 in insurance excess, repairs, damages, and loss of use for the rented motorcycle.
All cases of private settlement will be handled by VROOM Leasing. The amount settled will be at the discretion of VROOM Leasing base on the loss of time, income and commitment. Hirer is not allowed to communicate with third party after exchanging of particulars. By doing so this act constitute to a breach of contract and a penalty of $2000.
On top of the rental fees, the Hirer would also need to compensate VROOM for the days the bike is in the workshop, calculated on the bike’s rental’s fee on a daily rate.
Restriction on use
The Hirer covenants to use the vehicle only for Lawful and Legitimate purposes and not to use the vehicle for any unlawful purpose activity such as racing and other illegal activities. Vehicle is restricted to Singapore use only.
Hirer shall not take the said vehicle outside mainland of Singapore without the written consent of VROOM Leasing. Failure to comply with this term may entail dire consequences and The Hirer shall assumed personal and full responsibility. The hirer’s deposit will also be forfeited and will be counted as a breach of contract. The hirer will also be liable for all breakdown, towing fee and repair if found to exit Singapore with the motorcycle without the approval of VROOM.
In event of the said vehicle being damaged, confiscated, forfeited or seized as a result thereof, The Hirer shall indemnify VROOM Leasing for all the losses incurred including the full value of the said vehicle. The vehicle is NOT covered by a motor insurance policy covering personal accident insurance for The Hirer and VROOM shall not be responsible for any liability, claims and injuries or otherwise in connection with any accident death or other losses arising from the use of the Vehicle. The Hirer agrees that VROOM shall not be responsible for any liability, claim, loss damage or press of any kind or nature caused directly or indirectly by the vehicle or its use.
Cancellation & Other Conditions
Should the Hirer decide to terminate the rental contract prematurely, no refund will be given for any unused rental that is paid and The Hirer is liable to pay the full remaining contractual period for early termination. By terminating the rental contract early, this act constitutes a breach of contract and a penalty of $2000.
VROOM Leasing reserve the rights to terminate the rental without any liability should The Hirer failed to make the monthly/weekly/daily rental prepayment in advance. The Entity can forfeit the security deposit placed for each motorcycle/scooter, and the bike will be repossessed by VROOM. A repossession fee of $2000 will also be borne on the hirer. All debt collection fees, attempted repossession fee ($500 for every attempt) and repossession fees incurred will be borne by the hirer. VROOM Leasing also reserves the rights to claim back any outstanding rental and fees incurred during the repossession and all legal cost will be borne under the Hirer.
All payments for rental term must be made upfront for extension of rental terms. Overdue payment or payment made after the start of the new rental term will be considered as contract void, no insurance coverage will be provided to the hirer, thus riding illegally and The Hirer will have to compensate The Entity a minimum of $2000 as a penalty fee. The amount stated to The Hirer will be at the discretion of VROOM.
Upon termination of the Rental Agreement, The Hirer shall return the vehicle to any of VROOM’s workshops or pick up points as advised by VROOM Representatives.
If the vehicle is involved in an accident, The Hirer must inform VROOM, the Police, and other relevant authorities in writing of the accident and shall also notify VROOM Leasing in respect of any claim arising thereafter from the accident. No admission compromise offer payment or indemnity shall be made by The Hirer without VROOM's consent in writing. The Hirer shall render such information and assistance in connection with the accident as VROOM or its insurers may require.
No repair is to be done without VROOM Leasing’s approval. Shall the Hirer be caught repairing the vehicle at any workshop unauthorized by VROOM, compensation of S$2000 is payable to VROOM. The Hirer is REQUIRED to return the vehicle key and key tag in the same condition when he / she rented from VROOM.
No modifications are allowed to be made on the bike without prior consent. Even after consent is given, the bike must be returned to its original condition unless otherwise stated. Charges to reinstate the bike back to its original condition will be borne on the hirer and will have to compensate, and the deposit shall be forfeited.
Lost, damage or unreturned of the key or key tag will be chargeable $200 and upwards (Depending on model). Daily rental fee according to the vehicle rates will be charged accordingly to the hirer until key is returned.
If the vehicle was used for racing, exiting beyond Singapore without written consent, sublet / or lend without authorization by VROOM, each clause will be payable as a compensation of S$2000 to VROOM by The Hirer. All charges and amounts due which are not paid when due shall bear an interest of 4% per month until it is paid.
Any breach of terms and clause within the contract will have an additional penalty of $2000 per count of breach in this agreement on top of the penalty The Hirer had breached. This agreement shall be governed by and constructed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore and the parties agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the Courts of the Republic of Singapore. I / We have read and agree to the above-mentioned terms and conditions.
PDPA & Marketing
By accepting/signing this Rental Agreement, you hereby agree that Vroom Leasing may collect, obtain, store, and process your personal data that you provide in this rental agreement for the purpose of receiving updates, news, promotional and marketing mails, or materials from Vroom Leasing.
You hereby give your consent to Vroom Leasing to: Store and process your Personal Data; Disclose your Personal Data to the relevant governmental authorities or third parties where required by law or for legal purposes. Contact you to provide you with information on any updates, news, promotional and marketing mails or materials via the following mode of communications: postal mail to your address(es) and/or electronic transmission to your email address(es); to your Singapore telephone number(s) that you have provided or may provide to Vroom Leasing.
In addition, your personal data may be transferred to any company within the Vroom Leasing which may involve sending your data to a location outside Singapore.
You hereby confirm that you are the user and/or subscriber of the telephone number(s) that you have provided or may provide to Vroom Leasing.
For the avoidance of doubt, Personal Data includes all data defined within the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 including all data you had disclosed to Vroom Leasing in this Rental Agreement.
